Chicken Nanban w/ Egg Salad

Saturday, October 17, 2020

If you're not looking to be adventurous with what you eat here in Japan, there are still many options available. Anytime a friend or family member comes to visit, we always recommend chicken nanban. This dish is a crowd-pleaser and you can find it at most family restaurants here in Japan. It consists of fried chicken, a sweet and sour sauce, and an egg salad topping. Naturally, it also makes for a great homemade dinner. Check out the recipe below and let me know what you think in the comments.

Note: I used chicken thigh in place of chicken breast.

Chicken Thigh [Salt, Black Pepper, Flour, An Egg]

Nanban Sauce [Soy Sauce, Vinegar, Sugar]

Egg Salad [Boiled Eggs, Onions, Mayo, Salt, Black Pepper]

Canola Oil (for frying)

*As this recipe is not one of our originals, please consider purchasing the cookbook which details measurements here!
